Texarkana Yoga or TXK Yoga for short, was established in 2012. It quickly became a special place to many people. It has remained that way over the years. We are grateful to and for any and all that have poured their hearts into Texarkana Yoga over the past 10 years. Each of you have played a hand in creating what it is today. We not only want to remain the premiere yoga studio but also a safe place for our students to land on their mat. Finding balance and ease in today's world isn't simple. Texarkana Yoga offers a variety of yoga classes for any and all to help with that. Our mats quickly become a sacred place. A place to feel, a place to process, and a place to let go. If you are searching for pain relief, toning, and/or weight loss then yoga also has the ability to offer that to you.

So whether its for physical, mental, or spiritual needs, you will find it at TXK Yoga.

Jessica Gray

Hi, my name is Jessica Gray. I am the wearer of many hats but first and foremost I am a mother and wife. My husband and I have been together my entire adult life. He balances me in ways that he doesn't know. My son and daughter give me the motivation and direction that I need in life. We have 5 cats, 2 that I inherited from my sweet mama. We also have a Great Dane, named Addy. I have been a hairstylist for over a decade. I absolutely love and value each of my clients. They also bring balance to my life.
I began doing yoga for the physical benefits soon after my mother passed away. It didn't take very long for me to realize that yoga was much more than fitness. My yoga mat became a safe place to land and the people that I practiced with became my family. I recently received my certification as a Yoga Teacher. It was one of the best experiences of my life. While I absolutely love to practice yoga, when I step on center mat I truly feel at home. I feel as if I have found my calling.
Texarkana Yoga is my second home. This is why when I learned that it was for sale I knew in my soul that the universe wanted me to step into the role of owner. My husband Rocky and I purchased Texarkana Yoga with the hopes to continue to supply the same safe space to others that held me in my time of darkness. I want each individual to feel enveloped in love and acceptance upon entering the door.
The yoga that I teach is hot power. The temperature in the room allows the joints and muscles to stretch a little more. The body is able to release toxins through sweat. My class incorporates holds, power drills, all while gaining strength and flexibility. There is just something empowering about completing a hot power class.
There is something for everyone at Texarkana Yoga. We hope you will come share your practice with us. Namaste

Cheryl Patterson

Hi I'm Cheryl. I was introduced to yoga a long time ago. I would be venting on the phone with my Mom 750 miles away and she would tell me to go to the wall and put my legs up the wall. At this point in my life, I just shrugged it off like right Mom. Several years later I was re introduced to yoga, HOT power yoga. Now this was for me. Funny how life unfolds at the right times.

Since that first class in October 2012, I was hooked. Not only was yoga better for me than running or tennis but I had no clue there was more to it? I noticed My spiritual connection with my Heavenly Father and myself were growing!!! The inner peace that filled my heart was amazing.

I encourage you to come out and give a yoga class a try. If it's my class you try you will be in a setting of some laid back 90's rock or some yoga beats and challenges that are totally up to you and where you are in your own practice.

Sandra Mullens

I have been practicing yoga, off and on, since I was in High School. During the time when Lillas Folan had her early morning TV show and introduced her audiences to The Wonders of Yoga. At that time there weren't yoga studios on every corner and in the gyms. I bought a ton of books, read everything I could find on the subject and later bought DVD's. I was always very active, and as the Jane Fonda era rolled in, I begun to teach aerobics while sneaking some yoga into the classes. I dreamed of becoming a yoga instructor but with limited finances and five children that seemed impossible. In fact, I had never took a formal class until about 20 years ago! Once I started formal classes, I became even more hooked. I started going to yoga retreats around the world.

At the age of 71, the opportunity to finally become a certified yoga teacher presented itself with Purple Lotus 200-hour teacher training. Today I am doing what I love. I find that I get the most pleasure from introducing yoga to those that have never experienced yoga before, then observing their growth as they continue their practice. I love teaching yoga, the practice never gets old.

Katie Walker

Hey folks! My name is Katie. I teach the Slow-Burn Warm Yoga Class on Monday afternoons. My classes are a balance of active working poses and gentle restorative-flow poses. I offer guided muscle relaxation exercises throughout the practice, paired with breathing exercises, to help students learn to calm the body and mind.
If you've ever been to one of my classes, you've probably heard me talk about the power of the breath, importance of kindness to yourself (in your body and your thinking), and did I mention the power of the breath work?!

We live in a culture that pushes us to seek perfection. Yoga can be a safe place to step away from that unrealistic expectation. Yoga can be a safe place to practice kindness to yourself in your movements, your thinking, and your expectations. Yoga is not about bending like a pretzel or always being zen. Yoga is about self acceptance; even, and especially during stressful times. Through the full experience on your mat, you can practice stress management, self acceptance, and even a sense of belonging and community; simply by practicing within a group.

Off the mat, I'm a mom. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor. I'm an advocate for normalizing mental health care. I run a private counseling practice, Hope Centered Counseling LLC. I love learning. I'm a big advocate for self-care. I love to laugh, and try not to take myself too seriously.

My hope for my classes is that people walk away feeling a sense of peace, accomplishment, and appreciation for themselves. think yoga is for everyone; no matter your mobility level, religion, physical fitness level, or life experience. Yoga can help improve self-esteem, decrease anxiety and/or depression, and help people feel better overall.

Casey Lewis

Namaste, I'm Casey Lewis. I've been a fitness instructor for over 35 years and became certified to teach yoga in 2009. Yoga has become essential to my health and delivers strength and peace to my soul. I practice a vinyasa flow yoga, emphasizing the breath as we flow from one pose to the next.

Kelli Cook

Hi I am Kelli, I teach hot power yoga. My classes are packed with power moves, core work and strength training. I have been known to throw in some dance moves. Yoga changed my life about 6 years ago. I absolutely love practicing and teaching yoga. In my other life I am a Licensed Therapist specializing in stress management and trauma recovery. I am passionate about seeing people build resiliency and recovery from overwhelming experiences. I am an advocate for helping people learn the practice of self-love which is one of the primary keys to having a healthy life and relationships. My meditations at the end of my class often include the practice of self-love and gratitude. I am full of positivity, passion and love to encourage others to achieve their goals and dreams.

Michelle Valentin

Hi! My name is Michelle. I'm a native of Northern VA who's lived here for the past 5 years. I'm a wife and a fur-mama of a lot of dogs and a couple of cats. Spare time, I love good adventures.

I've practiced yoga on & off for over 10 years. I've found it has always kept me grounded and empowered me to feel my "crunch". It's given me balance both on and off the mat.

What I love about teaching yoga... I get to grow with my students. We stretch the mind and body challenging ourselves to create a sense of calm in the midst outside chaos. I teach (not hot) Slow Flow Yoga. I also teach Yoga Nidra from time to time.

Hope to see you on the mat!
